Seattle's First Food Forest, Beacon Hill, photo

This is a first nationwide...The Seattle First Food Forest on seven acres on Beacon Hill. Every type of fruit tree, herbs, blueberries, raspberries and any imaginable fruit or veggie. And best of all it will be free for the public. This is a terrific idea and hopefully catch on in other towns and cities. This venture is going to break ground in the summer of 2013. Good for Seattle! photo from: www.takepart.com

Skagit Valley Annual Tulip Festival begins April, 1, 2013...

The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival held annually in Mt. Vernon Washington. The daffodils and tulips abound all through the town. The official opening day is April 1st...and will last most of the month of April. With a mild winter, the blooms should be spectacular! All the colors of the rainbow. The 2013 Tulip Festival Poster was created by local artist Karen Sistek and is available at Roozengaarde and Tulip Town. Both in Mt Vernon. A must see for visitors from our state...and those who travel long distances to admire these colorful fields of blooms.  Enjoy the gardens....
