Victory Gardens
Victory Gardens were also called War Gardens and Food Gardens. They were planted in public parks and private homes. Even on rooftops in the cities. Victory Gardens contributed good produce and also gave the gardeners a sense of pride. During World War 1 and II almost 20 million Americans planted these functional gardens. They were very successful. Today there are people again interested in these "Victory Gardens" To eat better and help raise new awareness of these public gardens. You can check out the "Victory Garden" series on PBS channels in the USA . Happy gardening!
